Hi, I'm Patty.

I'm a marketer, strategist and content creator with more than 14 years of experience helping brands connect with people through better stories, smarter strategy and content that actually earns attention.

I've worked across travel, beauty, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment and lifestyle, leading everything from social strategy and creator campaigns to copywriting, email marketing and content production.

I believe good marketing should feel human.

And the best ideas don't just look good. They work.

I've helped brands launch campaigns, grow communities, build creator programs, tell better stories and rethink their digital presence.

Sometimes that means leading strategy.

Sometimes it means filming a Reel in another country.

Usually, it's somewhere in between.

I’m a big believer in packing for part of the trip, not necessarily the entire trip.

I was on @virginvoyages for 12 days last symmer and only brought a carry on. Instead of paying to check a suitcase, I sent my laundry out onboard and got everything back clean, folded and ready for round two.

The whole thing cost me less than checking one bag one way.

Especially for longer trips or back-to-back travel, I’d much rather spend a little on laundry halfway through than drag another suitcase through airports, hotels and cruise terminals.

One bag. Wear everything twice. Let someone else do the laundry.

Sometimes working from home means getting absolutely nothing done at home.

So I packed up my laptop, headed to a coffee shop, and let the possibility of strangers seeing my screen become my productivity system.

Confession: I have never once wanted to go to the gym.
Not one time, ever.

But I’ve also never regretted going once I got there. So I keep showing up anyway.

I went on eight cruises for work last year.

@virginvoyages was the only one I booked again with my own money.

It checks a lot of boxes for me.

It’s adults only, which I appreciate.

The Galley replaces the traditional buffet with made-to-order food from different kitchens, so there’s almost always something you’re in the mood for. You can even have it brought to your table. It feels like an elevated food hall.

There are no assigned dining rooms or set dinner times. I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate the flexibility until I had it. The whole experience just felt more relaxed.

The cabins are packed with smart tech. Mood lighting, tablet controls, and an app that makes everything easy, whether you’re booking dinner, an excursion, ordering Ship Eats, or having your cabin serviced.

The food is excellent, the gym is one of the best I’ve seen at sea, and the included fitness classes are genuinely fun.

I enjoyed it enough that I booked another Virgin voyage for New Year’s Eve because I wanted my husband to experience it too.

Now…can I convince him a Virgin Alaska itinerary should be next? 🚢

I think the internet has convinced us that travel is about seeing things.

Anthony Bourdain reminded us it’s about understanding people.

I’ve carried that with me for years. It’s influenced where I go, how I travel, and probably the questions I ask more than anything else.

The best trips I’ve taken aren’t the ones with the prettiest views. They’re the ones that changed the way I think.

I thought it would leave me chasing the next destination.

These days I’m just as excited about a Tuesday night walk by the water as I am about booking a flight. Travel made me appreciate good routines, thoughtful experiences, and the little things that make everyday life feel a little less ordinary.

📬 Postcards from the Camera Roll: Capri 🇮🇹

Last summer, my @virginvoyages cruise docked in Naples, and instead of staying there, I hopped on a ferry to Capri.

Worth it? Absolutely.

Here’s what makes it such an easy day trip:
☀️ The ferry ride is only about 30 minutes.
🚶‍♀️ Once you arrive, almost everything is walkable.
🍋 Lemon sorbet served in a lemon really is worth the cliché.
🍝 A waterfront lunch with lasagna somehow tastes even better with boats drifting by.
🏖️ There’s still time to relax at the beach before heading back.
🚗 And yes…the tiny little cars are every bit as charming in person.

I’ve actually been to Capri twice in a very similar way, once on this solo trip, and once years earlier on a Mediterranean cruise with my husband for our honeymoon. Both times, we did a self-guided day, and both times it felt easy, safe, and completely magical in its own way.

It’s one of those places where you don’t need a big plan or a group, just a ferry ticket and a few hours to wander, eat well, and take your time.

I’ve got plenty of opinions after visiting 40+ countries, so I figured it was finally time to stop letting them collect dust in my camera roll.

Consider this the first postcard 💛

A long weekend in Texas:

Some puppy cuddles, new ink and gym time plus the tail end of our New Orleans trip 🐶 💪🏼

Today marks 4 years that I’ve been able to call my mom. A day I woke up to a call with worst news imaginable.

This was the 4th year we set off our lanterns and while it hasn’t gotten easier it does feel a little lighter. It’s been 4 years of growth, learning, understanding and of course sadness. I still have chats with Debbie and I keep a note in my phone with all the things I wish I could call and tell her. At the same time I know she knows it all and is watching proud. I’ll keep trying to make her proud down here.

Our third stop in Alaska was Juneau, and it completely stole my heart. I spent the morning kayaking toward Mendenhall Glacier, while an eagle soared overhead 🦅 Afterward, I wandered through downtown Juneau, which has such a fun, small-town vibe. The food trucks there are amazing with everything from reindeer sausages to fresh fish tacos sizzling right on the corner. But the real highlight? Tracy’s King Crab Shack. The crab legs were massive 🦀

Then we headed to Ketchikan, rich with Gold Rush history. I loved exploring the quirky Red Onion Saloon, checking out the Driftwood House, and walking across the Yukon Suspension Bridge surrounded by lush forest views. We wrapped up the day at Liarsville, a recreated gold miner camp straight out of the 1890s, complete with a show and a salmon bake by the fire.

In July I also had the opportunity to go to Alaska!

We set sail from Whittier, a tiny Alaskan town with a population of 252.
Fun fact: almost everyone here lives in the same building and you can only enter through a one way 2 mile tunnel.

From there, we cruised to the breathtaking Hubbard Glacier, where the ship actually parks right in front of the massive ice wall and slowly turns so everyone can take in the view.

Then came my favorite stop: Icy Strait Point, home to the world’s longest zipline, the ZipRider which was only slightly terrifying!

The year was 2013 and I had just moved to Wilmington the first time. By myself.

I decided I wanted to adopt a dog and looked on Craigslist naturally (because where else would one look in 2013?) I found this adorable puppy with an off center white stripe on his face named Rocky and knew I had to get him.

The next day, Brad and I showed up to a questionable house in the middle of nowhere and we found the sweetest, most terrified, flea ridden puppy I had ever seen. He was barely six weeks and shouldn’t have been separated from his mother yet but here he was. There was no question he was coming home with us. I wrapped him in my sweatshirt, paid the man $40, and held him as he shook the whole way home where he promptly got several baths.

We renamed him Bronco and what a fitting name for my boy. He was a wild one. And, unlike our Riley everyone new to him was a stranger not to be trusted in an old man “get off of my lawn!” kind of way. But once he knew someone he was the sweetest, most gentle giant. And he always remembered them.

He came with us to NYC, NJ, TN and back here to Wilmington. Today, almost 12 years later, our Bronco boy has passed on. I know he was immediately greeted by my mom, Britt, Zach, Riley, Chase, Boom and everyone else who loved his sweet gentle soul Earth side. Because all dogs go to heaven.

Thank you for your undying love, companionship, protection, jingle bell sing alongs, and cuddles these past 11 years.
I love you sweet boy, rest easy ❤️
